MY STORY

I was born in Salt Lake City, home of The Sandlot.

Although I was surrounded by sports my entire life, I didn’t originally picture myself pursuing a career in the field. That all changed in my sophomore year of undergrad when I joined the campus newspaper.

I knew I loved talking about sports, but after I wrote my first article, I realized I was destined to write about them. I was captivated by the pursuit of capturing the emotion that sports evoke, from triumph to heartbreak.

Covering baseball, basketball, and combat sports, I quickly worked my way up to becoming the Chief Sports Editor of the paper – where I covered the Brooklyn Nets as an accredited media member and interviewed NBA Hall of Famer, Walt “Clyde” Frazier.

At Long Island University Brooklyn, as a member of the inaugural class of Jay Z's Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and Entertainment, I immersed myself in the world of sports communications. I became the Lead Sideline Reporter for LIU Basketball, where I conducted on-air interviews with head coach and NBA vet, Rod Strickland, for broadcasts on NEC Front Row and ESPN+. At the end of my senior year, I received the Jeff Passan Award, an honor recognizing the Roc Nation School’s top sportswriter.

Along the way, I gained valuable experience through internships at EDITION Magazine, Miller Sports and Entertainment, and Empire Sports Media. In my final semester, I joined amNewYork as a Sports Creative Journalist, where I challenged myself to write about a wide range of sports and teams — from the Long Island Ducks to professional wrestling to the Red Bull BC One breakdancing cypher. But the highlight? Providing on-site coverage for both the New York Yankees and New York Mets.

There's no place I'd rather be than reporting live from a press box, and I'm eager to return to where I know I belong.
